FAQ: printing, paper size and what you get

Can I print it at home, or does it need a print shop?

Either works. At home, load US Letter paper and pick Actual size or 100% in the print dialog, because Fit to page shrinks the letters. At a print shop, hand over the PDF and ask for single-sided US Letter at 100%.

Is it sized for US Letter paper?

Yes. Every page is laid out for US Letter, 8.5 by 11 inches, portrait, with a margin wide enough that nothing is cut off when you print at 100%.

What does the file contain?

One PDF of 24 pages: a cover, a page on how to print and solve, four section pages, twelve puzzles, two pages of hints, three pages of answer keys and a sheet to record your finishes.

Which pages should I print to save ink?

The puzzles are on pages 4 to 7, 9 to 12 and 14 to 17. The cover and section pages have a dark background, so leave them out if ink matters. Keep hints and keys for when you want them.

Will black and white printing work?

Yes. No puzzle depends on colour, so grayscale loses nothing. How dark the letters land is up to your printer; if they come out faint, choose a higher quality setting.

Will anything come in the mail?

No. What you buy is the PDF. You print it yourself, or a print shop prints it for you.
